We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester , who are recruiting for a Senior Solicitor to join their Childcare team on a locum, 3 month (minimum) contract.This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of circa £55 p/hour (Umbrella) and the start date is subject to notice.They are ideally looking for someone to attend court on a weekly/fortnightly basis, but may consider candidates on a fully remote basis.Duties will include (but are not limited to):Managing a caseload of childcare law matters, including care proceedings, child protection issues, and adoption casesDrafting and preparing legal documents such as applications, statements, and court bundlesUndertaking legal research and providing clear, concise advice to clients and colleaguesAttending court hearings and handling advocacyLiaising with clients, local authorities, guardians, and other professionals involved in childcare proceedingsRequirements:Experience working within a local authoritySignificant experience within Childcare/Family lawWorking hours:37 hours per weekMonday – Friday, flexible start/finish timesPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
