The predicted salary is between 55000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Warwickshire who are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join their team on an initial six month period with the possibility of a permanent position. This role can either be part time at 29.6 hours per week (over 4 or 5 days) or full time (37 hours per week) and is suitable for hybrid working with office presence in Warwickshire expected twice per week. The hourly rate is c.£29.50 per hour Umbrella.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and regularly reviewing a procurement strategy and associated policies and procedures
  • Supporting the delivery of a complex and varied procurement pipeline including the preparation of supplier events, tender documents, management of bidder clarifications, evaluation and moderation sessions
  • Ensuring activity achieves real impact by embedding robust governance, compliance and risk management while also looking for opportunities to innovate and add value
  • Driving process development; incorporating the latest policy changes and legislation
  • Supporting and providing specialist advice to colleagues across the organisation with the contract management module in Intend
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Contract Register
  • Undertaking spend analysis of procurement activity on a quarterly basis and helping develop proposals for improving cost effective procurement
  • Responsible for the corporate e-tendering and attending joint meetings
  • Providing appropriate expertise, training and advice to officers
  • Responding to Freedom of Information requests
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the website pages for procurement

Experience required:

  • Experience working under the Procurement Act 2023 and PCR 2015 is desirable

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • CIPS qualified or working towards this qualification is preferable

Working hours:

  • 29.6 hours (over four or five days) or 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
