We are currently working in partnership with a local authority based in the Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Repairs & Voids Manager on a 12-week temporary basis.

This will be a full-time position with 3 days per week in the office & on-site, and 2 days per week working from home. The daily rate is circa £350.00 per day via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of leading repairs and voids works within social housing or council properties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading and delivering the repairs and voids service for homes, directly managing a team of Responsive Repairs and Voids Officers, looking to continually develop and improve the service
  • Leading on contract management of key repairs and voids contracts, overseeing all aspects of contract management, including performance monitoring and financial management
  • Chairing regular contract meetings to ensure suppliers performance is in line with contracts and agreed performance standards and efficiency
  • Working on emerging priorities, such as climate change, as well as damp, mould and disrepair
  • Identifying opportunities for commercial activities while maintaining and enhancing customer relationships
  • Monitoring and developing key performance indicators relating to the service, addressing poor performance and implementing improvements
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the service, leading all allocated resources and maintaining budgetary control

Experience & Skills required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing and/or Local Authority
  • Able to lead on contracts for repairs and void works
  • A background in monitoring and improving supplier performance and efficiency
  • Knowledge in decarbonisation, retrofit, damp, mould and disrepair
  • Skills in budget and financial management
  • Experience working with customers within housing

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
