We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in South West England , who are recruiting for a locum Planning & Highways Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 6-months .

They are open to both full-time and part-time applicants for this role, and are offering an hourly rate of circa Β£50 – Β£60 p/hour UMB . This is a predominantly remote position, but they are ideally looking for someone to attend committees. They are looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a mixed caseload of Planning, Highways and Enforcement matters
  • Providing advice to the client group on varied Planning matters, including advising on appeal enquiries and other associated matters as required
  • Attending and representing the Council at Committee meetings on an ad-hoc basis
  • Drafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related matters
  • Advising on, drafting and completing highways agreements, including deeds of dedication and footpaths orders

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Local Authority
  • Experience handling planning committees
  • Significant planning & highways law experience

Working hours:

  • Open to part-time or full-time applicants (minimum 25 hours)
