We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a locum Senior Housing Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 6-months, with potential for extension. This is a full-time position, offering an hourly rate circa £50 - £60 via an Umbrella company, and they are looking for someone to get started as soon as possible. They are ideally looking for someone to attend court, but will consider remote options.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing a quality in-house service, primarily focused on housing management and tenancy enforcement matters particularly those involving anti-social behaviour and disrepair.
- Handling end to end case management of complex anti-social behaviour and tenancy management matters, defending and progressing claims and applications to their conclusion.
- Attending and representing the client at Court hearings, conducting own advocacy and preparing all documents and papers required.
- Preparing notices, pleadings and witness statements as required.
- Providing training to staff across the business in regards to legal and housing management issues.
Experience Required:
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer.
- PQE experience within housing law or civil litigation.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
