We are currently working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected housing provider, who are looking to appoint a Repairs Supervisor on a permanent basis. This will be a full-time position covering properties across the Tunbridge Wells area, with a salary of £45,743 per annum. Our client is a forward-thinking organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes and services across the South East. With a customer-first approach and a commitment to continuous improvement, they are looking for an experienced Repairs Supervisor to lead a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring responsive repairs are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience supervising maintenance teams, a strong understanding of building maintenance and repairs, and the ability to drive performance whilst delivering excellent customer service.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Supervising a team of operatives and subcontractors to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard and in line with KPIs
- Monitoring operative productivity, diaries and attendance to maximise performance
- Managing follow-on works, material orders and customer appointments
- Carrying out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections and post-inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Supporting the Customer Care team with complaints, disrepair cases and complex customer issues
- Undertaking toolbox talks, vehicle inspections and health and safety compliance checks
- Managing annual leave, return-to-work meetings and other employee relations matters
- Conducting regular one-to-one meetings and identifying training and development opportunities for operatives
- Building strong relationships with schedulers and supporting continuous service improvement
- Promoting safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Experience required:
- Previous experience supervising repairs or maintenance teams
- Experience within a responsive repairs or property maintenance environment
- Experience managing employee performance and supporting team development
- Experience carrying out property inspections and quality assurance checks
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent leadership, communication and dispute resolution skills
- Good understanding of building maintenance and responsive repairs
- Strong organisational and workload management skills
- IT literacy, including experience using mobile technology and workforce management systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to health and safety and customer service excellence
Desirable:
- Experience working within Social Housing
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent trade qualification
- Experience using PDAs or mobile working technology
- Proactive approach with a professional attitude and high standards
