Our client, based in Southwest London/Surrey, is currently recruiting for a M&E Manager on a permanent basis. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis with an annual salary of £58,000 per annum. This key role will help ensure the Group continues to meet its obligations for mechanical and electrical standards as part of its building safety obligations and keep residents safe.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and deliver mechanical and electrical works programmes as part of long-term investment and asset management plans
- Manage the procurement, contract administration, and delivery of mechanical and electrical projects through contractors and specialist consultants
- Ensure all building safety requirements, statutory obligations, and regulatory compliance standards are identified, monitored, and addressed throughout project delivery
- Maintain and update asset management and compliance databases relating to mechanical and electrical assets, including undertaking and recording property surveys as required
- Manage mechanical and electrical servicing, inspection, testing, and remedial works programmes, ensuring effective contract administration and programme delivery
- Oversee quality assurance processes for completed works and certification, including sample inspections and post-completion reviews
- Manage mechanical and electrical contractors, monitoring performance, compliance, and service delivery to ensure contractual obligations are met
Experience required:
- At least 5 years' experience of commissioning and delivering mechanical and electrical (M&E) programmes in a residential setting
- At least 5 years' experience of managing major projects and budgets, ensuring value for money
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) Safety and Quality Standard
- Demonstrable track record in working as part of a broader leadership team to deliver results
- Compliance and due diligence
