The predicted salary is between 20 - 26 £ per hour.
We are currently working in partnership with one of the UK’s largest gas distributors who are recruiting for an HR Advisor on a temporary three month contract. The role will be hybrid (2 days WFH) and then based at sites in the Essex area. The position is due to start immediately, with a possibility of extension. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £26 via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle, be happy to travel across the whole patch to sites, and have experience working on ER case work in industries such as manufacturing, retail, distribution or construction.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Acting as first line support in telephone and email query resolution, coaching managers, colleagues and candidates on key HR procedures
- Providing accurate advice and coaching to managers on various aspects of employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, probationary and performance management processes, flexible working requests, maternity and paternity to ensure these are handled appropriately and in line with our policies and legislation
- Managing sickness and other absence processes, including managing and monitoring absence cases, issuing Sick Pay letters and tracking occupational health referrals
- Supporting Leaver process, advising on policy and best practice
- Coordinating Drugs and Alcohol process e.g. organising testing, ensuring completion and submission of documentation
- Updating and maintenance of HR systems including the Workday system
- Travelling to sites to attend disciplinaries, coaching managers, taking notes and following up on outcomes
Experience required:
- Experience working on ER case work
- Experience working in industries such as manufacturing, retail, distribution or construction

- ER casework

- Sickness and absence management process, including chasing certification documentation, issuing Sick Pay letters and tracking occupational health referrals
- Leaver management e.g. processing resignations, ensuring leavers checklists are completed and submitted
- Drugs and Alcohol process e.g. organising testing, ensuring completion and submission of documentation
- Health assessments e.g. Night working

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch break, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.
