Are you a meticulous and dedicated health, safety and environmental specialist who has a passion for supporting HSE for businesses by ensuring a safe, secure and supportive environment? James Andrews are proud to be partnering with an award-winning food manufacturer who are now looking to appoint a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator on a permanent basis. This will be a full-time position based in Leicestershire alongside a competitive salary paying between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar HSE role within food manufacturing or FMCG and be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level in Occupational Health and Safety Management.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting HSE for the business by ensuring a safe, secure and supportive environment
  • Leading on developing, implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental policies and procedures in line with regulations and ensuring completion of site legislation compliance matrix
  • Advising and supporting the departmental managers responsible to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations using People Compliance System (online legal register)
  • Managing health surveillance programme and promoting a positive health and safety culture
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental policies and procedures in line with regulations and communicate updates across 2 sites
  • Conducting regular site audits and inspections
  • Identifying hazards, assessing the risks and recommending suitable control measures

Experience required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HSE role within food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level in Occupational Health and Safety Management
  • Environmental qualification and experience

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Good understanding of Food Safety/Level 2 food Safety
  • In-depth knowledge of UK HSE regulations/legislation and risk management
  • Working knowledge of MS Office packages

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (on-site full time)
