Job Description
We are currently working in partnership with a Charity based in the Black Country, who are recruiting for an Interim Head of Finance on a temporary three-month contract, with a high likelihood of being extended.
The daily rate of pay is negotiable c.£400-£500 via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can develop and implement financial strategies, and someone who can lead the finance function through planning, managing and reporting.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Overseeing all financial transactions, accounting matters and cash flow management
- Preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial reports, including annual accounts and management information, providing narrative
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements and internal policies identifying areas of risk
- Identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve financial deficiencies
Experience required:
- Proven experience in public sector finance, ideally within local government and, in particular, children’s services
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- A qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
