James Andrews are proud to be partnering with a unique manufacturer known for technical expertise and custom solutions, who are seeking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role based in Leicestershire, offering a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum alongside an attractive benefits package.

The successful candidate will preferably have a mechanical background and ensure the smooth running of the machinery and equipment, as well as performing general maintenance tasks related to the site services. The overall aim of this role is to minimise down‑time through planned, preventative maintenance, whilst improving production facilities.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the machinery and equipment, as well as performing general maintenance tasks related to the site services
  • Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults
  • Diagnosing breakdown problems and using your findings to contribute to improving planned preventative maintenance
  • Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly
  • Checking and calibrating instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Working and maintaining conveyor systems and sensors
  • Ensuring that there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
  • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems / breakdowns and repairs
  • Providing training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities such as cleaning valves etc.
  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance

Experience required:

  • A mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification
  • Industrial or manufacturing background
  • Electrical and mechanical training/experience within an industrial setting

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of hydraulics and compressed air systems

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, with rotating shifts between 6am to 10pm
