Our client, a Housing Association based in London, South, West and East of England, is currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel (Housing Litigation) due to internal promotion within the Legal team. The salary being offered is up to Β£58,000 for their office based in Hampshire, however they can offer London weighting to this for candidates looking to work out of their London office. They offer hybrid working, with flexible hours available and three days working from home per week. They are looking for a qualified candidate with extensive experience in Disrepair, as whilst this role will look at a wide range of Housing Litigation matters, they will be managing staff solely looking at Disrepair. Whilst the client is able to wait for notice, they would be looking to interview and offer the successful candidate in January.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Reporting into the Senior Legal Counsel (Housing Litigation), reporting on the team as well as assisting with general legal work
- Managing a team of two unqualified members of staff, being responsible for appraisals and learning opportunities when appropriate
- Dealing with your own mixed Housing Litigation caseload, whilst also assisting with escalated, complex Disrepair work from your team
- Working with external solicitors, counsel and insurers when required
- Coordinate with the Property Services teams to ensure timely instructions, accurate reports and effective case resolutions
Experience required:
- Experience required in Social Housing is desirable, but any relevant experience will be considered
- Must have specialist experience in Housing Disrepair
Working hours:
37 hours per week, Monday β Friday, 9am-5pm
