We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset, who are recruiting for a fully remote Childcare Lawyer to join their growing team on a locum, 3 month (rolling) contract. This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of £50 - £60/hour umbrella (negotiable) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Representing the Local Authority in childcare proceedings, including care orders, supervision orders, and emergency protection applications.
- Providing legal advice to social workers and senior management on safeguarding, child protection, and compliance with relevant childcare legislation and statutory guidance.
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents, witness statements, and court bundles to support cases involving the welfare and protection of children.
Requirements:
- Experience required in Local Government.
- Childcare law experience.
