The predicted salary is between 44000 - 48000 £ per year.

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Employment Lawyer to join their growing team on a 3 month locum contract, with opportunities to extend following this.

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of £55 – £60/hour (umbrella) and the start date is subject to notice.

It is a remote role, however any office attendance in Greater Manchester would be advantageous.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a complex caseload of employment matters on behalf of the Council, including advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, equal pay, pensions, TUPE, policy matters and employment tribunal cases
  • Liaising and advising HR on sickness absences, restructures, equality issues, performance issues, and policy disputes
  • Drafting settlement agreements, responding to employment claims and undertaking advocacy where required
  • Providing timely and effective specialist legal advice to elected members, including Directors, senior managers and officers

Requirements:

  • Experience required within Employment law
  • Local Government experience
