Are you an experienced sustainability and retrofit professional with a passion for delivering decarbonisation projects that create lasting environmental and social impact? James Andrews are delighted to be partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation based in Staffordshire that is looking to appoint a Decarbonisation Project Manager on a 3-year fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in retrofit delivery, energy efficiency improvements, and low-carbon technologies to lead projects that support the organisation's ambitions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing retrofit programmes, improving building energy performance, and driving carbon reduction initiatives across diverse property portfolios.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading the successful delivery of the Wave 3 retrofit programme (c.400 homes over a 3-year period)
  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of the retrofit programme to agreed scope, time, cost and quality
  • Ensuring compliance with PAS 2035/2030, TrustMark and all regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating delivery with wider capital programmes and organisational priorities
  • Undertaking site visits and supporting design development to ensure quality outcomes
  • Managing programme budgets, cashflow forecasting and financial reporting
  • Monitoring costs, variations and contractor valuations
  • Maintaining programme assurance and evidence for audit and compliance checks
  • Ensuring all works comply with CDM, Health & Safety and statutory requirements
  • Leading and managing internal project teams and external delivery partners
  • Ensuring risks and issues are escalated and managed effectively
  • Ensuring residents understand and maximise the benefits of installed measures

Experience required:

  • Proven experience delivering domestic retrofit or decarbonisation programmes
  • Experience managing grant-funded projects from mobilisation to completion
  • Strong financial management and cost control experience
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors and supply chain partners
  • Experience of stakeholder management, including external funding bodies

Skills, qualifications and expertise required:

  • Degree or equivalent in construction, building surveying, project management or related discipline (Essential)
  • MRICS, MCIOB, CIAT or equivalent professional membership (Desirable)
  • Retrofit Coordinator or related retrofit qualification (Desirable)
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2) (Desirable)

Working hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday

Hybrid working available: 2-3 days based on site
