We are currently working in partnership with a University based in the Manchester area, who are looking to recruit a Data Protection Officer on a 6-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately, and the daily rate on offer is negotiable subject to experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling DPIA’s and FOI’s, and experience within the Higher Education / public sector setting.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Acting as the lead point of contact for the University on all Data Protection/Information Governance matters
- Undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) regularly and actioning new processes accordingly
- Reviewing and supporting Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)
- Handling complex Freedom of Information requests (FOI’s) and Subject Access Requests (SAR’s), and liaising with junior staff to ensure all requests are responded to promptly
- Liaising with staff across the University on data protection in respect of different data breaches which may occur
Experience required:
- Experience required in Data Protection
- Experience handling DPIAs and FOIs
- Ideally will have experience in Higher Education
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
