We are currently working in partnership with an educational institution in Merseyside, who are looking to appoint a Contracts Lawyer within their Research Contracts team on a 3-month locum basis. This will be a full-time position offering circa £45 - £55 per hour (can be negotiable), and they are ideally looking for someone to attend the office, but can consider remote candidates (UK based and would need to collect equipment).

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Higher Education. Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Reviewing, drafting, negotiating and processing research-related agreements, including funded research, collaboration and data-sharing agreements
  • Supporting academics and research teams throughout the contract approval process
  • Providing guidance on contractual terms, funder requirements and research governance matters
  • Liaising with internal departments and external partners to facilitate research activity
  • Ensuring agreements comply with university policies, regulatory requirements and funding conditions
  • Maintaining accurate records and support the efficient delivery of research contracts

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Higher Education
  • Experience with research contracts
  • Advising on complex and sensitive matters at a senior level

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.
