We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Commercial Property Lawyer to join their growing team on a locum, 3 month (minimum) contract.
This is a full-time position with a negotiable hourly rate and they’re looking to interview as soon as possible. Office presence is required weekly
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Advising the council on legal matters related to commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and lease
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, leases, licences, and other property-related legal documents to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Negotiating terms and conditions with developers, tenants, and external legal representatives on behalf of the Local Authority
- Providing legal guidance on planning agreements, land use, and property development projects
- Resolving disputes relating to property ownership, tenancy, or contractual obligations through negotiation, mediation, or legal proceedings
- Ensuring that all property transactions and agreements are compliant with local government policies and relevant legislation
Experience required:
- Experience required within Local Government
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX
