We are currently working in partnership with a City Council who are recruiting for a Commercial Solicitor to join their team on a locum basis, for 3-months initially with potential for extension. The role offers remote working and a rate in the region of £50 p/hour UMB, subject to experience. The ideal candidate will have experience of handling contracts and procurement law within Local Government, and skills in handling high-value and complex agreements. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Providing legal advice in regards to varied commercial contracts matters, initially focused on varied corporate/company work Delivering successful outcomes on a wide range of projects, including major transformational development/regeneration works, construction, and creating trading companies and joint ventures Drafting and negotiating key agreements, including NDAs, IT agreements, NEC/JCT contracts, and funding agreements Reviewing a range of commercial contracts and providing extensive procurement advice to Council departments, its officers and employees Advising on procurement challenges, taking the lead role on successfully opposing them, and related legal matters, and defending aborted procurements Rewards and Benefits: Remote Working Working hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
