Job Description

We are currently in partnership with a London Borough who are recruiting for an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer to cover for a maternity leave on an 11-month temporary contract.

This is a London-based position with once a week on site per week, as well as some court attendance, on a full-time contract of 35 hours per week. This organisation is offering a negotiable rate dependent on experience.

The main purpose of this role is to provide a range of legal support to help ensure the successful delivery of the initiatives across the London Boroughs represented by the firm.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Dealing with a wide range of litigation matters including but not limited to:
  • Non-residential property litigation
  • Commercial and contract disputes
  • Debt recovery (high and low value)
  • Public law
  • Orientated dispute resolution
  • Discrimination and equality claims
  • Injunction applications and judicial review claims

Experience required:

  • Working for local government, preferably a London Borough
  • Solicitor Barrister, FILEX, or similar legal qualification and authorised to conduct legal work
  • A proven track record in dealing with a wide range of litigation matters, as well as a thorough knowledge of civil procedure and practice

Working hours:

  • Full time (35 hours a week)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Once a week on site, as well as some court attendance
