The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are currently partnering with one of the largest Unitary Councils in the UK with over 250,000 residents, who are recruiting for a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a temporary three-month basis. This is available on a full-time basis with a flexible rate that is negotiable dependent on experience. This role is hybrid, requiring an office presence once a week, mainly based in Northamptonshire.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing legal support on civil litigation matters, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Managing and overseeing debt recovery cases, including pre-action correspondence, negotiations, enforcement proceedings, and settlement agreements.
  • Advising clients on possession claims, tenancy disputes, leasehold matters, and regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing and managing judicial review proceedings, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Acting on behalf of clients in commercial property disputes, including lease enforcement, dilapidations, and breach of covenant claims.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience working within Local Government.
  • Ability to undertake and manage a large caseload of Civil Litigation cases.
  • Ability to undertake all of the responsibilities with minimal managerial support.
  • Must be able to do their own advocacy.

Working hours: Full time (35 hours a week). Monday to Friday (9-5). Office presence required once a week.
