Our client, based in the South West, is currently recruiting for a locum Childcare Solicitor on an initial 3-month contract, that is likely to be extended.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £50 – £60 per hour , via an umbrella company, but is negotiable based on PQE.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing key childcare cases, and have experience working in local government.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing your own caseload of Childcare matters, including care proceedings, PLOs and DOLs
- Providing a comprehensive legal service on all aspects of child protection work to the Children, Young People and Families Directorate and to the Council
- Representing the Council in attended hearings concerning children in the Family Court
- Briefing Counsel on behalf of the Council in the Family Court, and obtaining Counsel’s opinion on any relevant matters relating to children’s proceedings
- Advising on, negotiating and drafting legal documents to give effect to decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council
Experience required:
- Experience required in Local Government
- Ideally qualified as a Solicitor
Working hours:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
