We are looking for an experienced Head of HR to join one of our clients within the education sector on a part-time, term-time only basis. This is an excellent hybrid opportunity for a senior HR professional who can provide strategic people leadership, operational HR management and expert employee relations support across a multi-site organisation, with a head office in Burntwood. Offering a salary of £52,413 to £56,647 pro rata, this opportunity will suit someone who is confident leading people strategy, strengthening HR compliance, supporting complex casework and ensuring high-quality people management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing an effective People Strategy aligned to organisational priorities and long-term objectives
- Providing professional HR leadership, advice and operational support to senior leaders, managers and wider teams
- Ensuring HR policies, procedures and processes remain legally compliant, consistently applied and reflective of best practice
- Managing a portfolio of employee relations casework, including performance, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, absence management and investigations
- Maintaining accurate HR records, contracts, correspondence, safeguarding checks and workforce information in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Supporting effective union engagement, consultation processes and external HR/legal adviser relationships where required
- Working collaboratively with payroll, pensions, operations and health and safety colleagues to support effective service delivery and compliance
About You:
- Experience in a senior HR role, ideally within education, public sector, charity, not-for-profit or another regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policy, employee relations casework and organisational people processes
- Confident advising senior leaders and line managers on complex HR matters, using sound judgement and maintaining high levels of confidentiality
- Hold a relevant professional HR qualification, or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
