We are proud to be partnering with a leading employer in the Birmingham area, who are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to sit in the Business Partnering team on a 6-month temporary basis. This will be a full-time position based in Birmingham, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and an hourly rate up to £21.76 via an umbrella.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing financial support for various departments and projects.

Duties:
  • Monitoring income and expenditure against set budgets and producing accurate budget reports in a professional format at regular intervals.
  • Providing financial information for budget review meetings along with written commentary and attending meetings where necessary.
  • Assisting with the preparation of accurate income and expenditure reports highlighting variances at the earliest convenience.
  • Ensuring all relevant costs are recorded against projects within prescribed timescales.
  • Processing sales invoice requisitions and ensuring income is claimed in line with contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring journals, recharges and capture costs are completed correctly and in a timely manner and uploaded to the accounting system.
  • Assisting with the preparation and processing of month and year end accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Responding to a wide range of financial and non-financial queries providing reliable advice and resolution where possible.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Qualified to AAT level or able to demonstrate a combination of qualifications, skills and relevant experience at an equivalent level.
  • Sound knowledge of financial systems and procedures.
