Job Description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Gloucester, who are recruiting for an Assurance Officer on a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

The role can be conducted predominantly from home, with ad-hoc attendance for meetings, but the successful candidate will be required to attend office for their first week.

The position is due to start as soon as possible, and they are looking for someone on a full-time basis. The hourly rate of pay is £23.70 p/h via an Umbrella company.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivering high-quality, efficient and professional performance & assurance reporting and insurance management which supports the organisation to retain a G1 rating
  • Managing the internal audit and supporting delivery of the internal audit contract, liaising with internal audit and with services
  • Communicating key information to ensure the effective delivery of the audit plan, leading the coordination of follow up internal audit actions, and supporting the reporting of progress
  • Tracking and understanding assurances across the organisation, collating reports for senior management, Audit & Risk Committee, and the Board
  • Ensuring adequate insurance provision for the organisation, managing claims, and liaising with Insurance Brokers & Insurance Companies
  • Supporting the Data Protection function, ensuring the organisation is compliant, and ensuring subject access requests are supported

Experience required:

  • Report writing and presentation to Executive Leadership Teams and Governing bodies
  • Data Protection and Compliance work
  • Social Housing Regulation and compliance, or similar regulated environment
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of insurance cover, claims procedures and renewal of policies
