Job Description

We are currently working in partnership with an award winning Housing Association with properties across the South West, who are recruiting for an Asbestos Removal Project Manager on a temporary three-month contract. This is a largely home-working role!

The client is looking for someone to start immediately, is offering extensive home working and dependent one experience can offer Β£350.00 – Β£400.00 per day via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have led previous asbestos removal and compliance projects, ideally within social housing, and have access to their own vehicle with a full UK Driving Licence.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Effectively delivering on an asbestos project, reviewing surveys, planning supervision and oversight of asbestos removals through contractors
  • Managing a programme of asbestos remedial works and end-to-end delivery of asbestos abatement across the social housing stock
  • Planning and supervising the reinstatement works following removal of asbestos
  • Preparing and reviewing survey information, reviewing desktop survey information and prioritising removals
  • Ensuring suitable method statements, risk assessments and PoWs are in place and implemented
  • Ensuring compliance with Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG 247 and HSG 248
  • Managing budgets, subcontractor performance and procurement of asbestos removal services
  • Overseeing invoicing, variations and cost tracking to ensure projects remaining financially viable
  • Experience, Skills & Qualifications required:

    • Experience of managing asbestos removal projects in domestic housing
    • BOHS P402 and P405 (or equivalent)
    • SMSTS/SSSTS and NEBOSH General Cert (desirable)
    • Strong knowledge of asbestos and asset management platforms – D365
    • Ability to work productively with contractors and lead on contractor procurement
    • Detailed understanding of Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG 247, HSG 248, HSG 264 and CDM 2015

    Working hours:

    • 37 hours per week
    • Monday – Friday
