Our Local Authority client, based in the South West of England , is currently recruiting for a Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer on a part-time basis (2-3 days p/week) for an initial 6-month locum contract. The position is due to start immediately, and the hourly rate is circa £55 p/hour UMB , but can be negotiable subject to PQE. The ideal candidate will have experience working within Social Care law and most specifically within the local authority setting. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Overseeing and managing a Social Care caseload, supporting the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to provide assistance to the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare and Adult Social Care Responding to requests for advice and representation from Council employees Managing all aspects of Court representation as required Representing the Council at Court and formal appeal hearings as required Determining appeals under the Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure of the Local Government Pension Scheme and various internal appeal procedures where required Experience required: Social Care law experience Local Authority experience Working hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
