We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Salford, who are recruiting for an Electrician on a three-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £25.00 CIS via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance, carrying out electrical works across occupied and void properties. They will hold NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition qualifications, with strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and Health & Safety compliance.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations across domestic housing properties in line with current regulations and company standards
- Completing responsive repairs, void works, testing, inspections, and associated making good works including basic patch plastering
- Diagnosing faults, ordering materials, and managing follow-on works to ensure a right first time service for residents
- Delivering multi-skilled maintenance tasks while maintaining excellent customer service and clear communication with tenants
- Ensuring all works are completed safely in line with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, COSHH, and safe working practices
- Managing company vehicle, van stock, certifications, and repair documentation accurately while supporting out of hours and call-out services
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Appropriately qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) within a relevant electrical discipline
- Fully qualified to BS 7671 18th Edition regulations (or latest edition)
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical servicing, maintenance, and repair works
Working hours: 38 hours per week Mon-Thurs 8:00am - 4:15pm and Fridays 8:00am- 3:30pm.
