We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Manchester, who are recruiting for a Facilities Caretaker on a 12-month FTC. The position is due to start immediately and the annual salary for the role is £32,000 per annum.
The client is looking for someone with previous experience within facilities, caretaking, estates, housing, or building maintenance environments, alongside strong customer service skills and a proactive approach.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out workplace inspections across multiple sites, including checks on landscaping, fire alarms, cleaning standards, ironmongery, car parks, waste management, and overall building condition.
- Undertaking regular compliance and building safety checks, including fire alarm testing, water flushing, and general H&S inspections.
- Supporting reactive maintenance and planned works by coordinating access and liaising with contractors and internal teams.
- Completing minor repairs, basic maintenance tasks, deep cleaning, and general upkeep of communal areas and external spaces.
- Monitoring building systems and ensuring communal spaces remain safe, clean, and hazard free.
- Responding to urgent facilities and maintenance issues where required.
- Supporting wider compliance and facilities management activities alongside the Facilities and Building Safety teams.
Experience required:
- Experience in facilities maintenance environments.
- Experience in building compliance inspections.
- Experience in communal cleaning standards.
- Experience in housing or estates services.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.
