We are currently working in partnership with an award winning higher education institution, who are looking to appoint an Employee Relations Advisor on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a full-time position based in Hertfordshire, with hybrid working (3/4 days home working per week) and a salary of £39,000-£42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have a public sector background with extensive experience managing employee relations matters, trade union engagement, and BCP activities.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing expert Employee Relations advice and support to managers on a range of employment matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance-related issues
- Monitoring and coordinating incoming Employee Relations cases
- Managing several concurrent cases, maintaining accurate records and delivering timely outcomes
- Supporting managers through formal investigation(s)
- Providing support with employment tribunal matters and other formal employment disputes when required
Experience required:
- Experience working in a unionised environment, engaging with trade unions on employee relations matters
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Public sector background
- ITRENT system experience
- CIPD (any level) desirable
