We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Devon, who are recruiting for a Policy Review Officer - Service Improvement on a temporary six-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with long term opportunities possible. The hourly rate of pay for the role is between £30-40 per hour via an Umbrella Company.
The role will involve translating existing service improvement plans into clear, practical, and fully operational policies, procedures, and action plans that can be implemented across the service.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Reviewing current service improvement plans, compliance actions, and operational processes
- Drafting and implementing functional policies and procedures aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements
- Developing workable action plans and operational guidance documents for frontline teams
- Supporting service leads with policy standardisation, governance, and compliance frameworks
- Identifying gaps in existing procedures and recommending service improvements
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure policies are practical, deliverable, and embedded effectively
- Assisting with audit readiness, compliance reporting, and evidence management
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across housing and property-related services
Experience required:
- Experience required in Social Housing
- Experience writing policies
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (Flexible WFH - Two days in office)
