We are currently working in partnership with a local authority based in Cardiff, who are recruiting for a Painter on a temporary six-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with a high likelihood of the contract being extended. The hourly rate of pay is £21.57 with a van being provided following an initial induction.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in domestic properties and will be responsible for:
- Carrying out internal and external painting and decorating works across a portfolio of domestic council properties, ensuring high-quality finishes in line with void and occupied property standards.
- Preparing surfaces including stripping, sanding, filling, priming, and making good prior to decoration to ensure durability and compliance with specifications.
- Undertaking external works including masonry painting, fencing, railings, and communal areas, working safely at height where required.
- Completing wall and floor tiling in kitchens and bathrooms, including surface preparation, adhesive application, grouting, and finishing to a high standard.
- Working across occasional commercial and public buildings (e.g. offices, community centres), adhering to stricter compliance and operational requirements.
Experience in tiling is beneficial, and painting and decorating in domestic properties is preferred.
Working hours are Monday – Thursday, 8am-4pm, and Friday 8am-3:30pm.
