Our client based in Central Birmingham is currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join their established team on a permanent basis. Our client is proud to be a leader in their industry sector, delivering services all across the UK, Europe, North Africa, North America and the Middle East.
The salary for the role is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum DOE, and the business offers two days a week working from home and three in the office.
The ideal candidate will have experience of handling end‑to‑end, monthly and weekly payroll. Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Processing three monthly payrolls and one weekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees, ensuring all weekly timesheets are reviewed and processed accurately and on schedule.
- Acting as the primary contact for advising and resolving varied employee payroll queries.
- Responsible for processing statutory deductions, including SMP, SPP, SSP and SAP.
- Processing starters and leavers, including P45s and updating employee records as required.
- Managing general payroll administration tasks, including data entry and inputting timesheets.
- Conducting regular payroll reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies, and provide ongoing support with pension administration, including contributions and related queries.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Experience of end‑to‑end payroll.
- Confidence in resolving payroll queries.
- Intermediate MS Excel level.
