We are proud to be partnering with an award-winning registered charity and Hospice, providing care and support to those with potentially life-limiting illnesses across North London, who are looking to appoint an Assistant People Business Partner on a 6-month FTC. This will be a full-time position based in North London, with hybrid working (2 days home working). The salary is £36,000 to £44,000 per annum depending on seniority.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in HR / employee relations (ER) and ideally be CIPD qualified.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the People Business Partners by providing ad-hoc support to the recruitment process including assisting with the drafting of adverts for new hires and volunteers, participating in the selection process for some roles within the organisation including interviews.
  • Providing support to line managers on a range of ER issues including absence management, grievances and disciplinary cases as well coaching and supporting to line managers to ensure cases are addressed in line with policy and in a timely and professional manner, attending meetings and taking notes where appropriate.
  • Assisting all line managers and staff on all People Policies working closely with the People Services team to ensure all policies and forms are accessible to line managers and staff.
  • Coaching and guiding on performance appraisals including objective setting, providing constructive feedback, advice on managing underperformance and assisting line managers and employees with the development of personal development plans.
  • Spearheading initiatives that foster a positive culture, employee engagement and wellbeing. Assist with the development of the wellbeing programme and the staff engagement platform.

Experience required:

  • Experience required in employee relations (absenteeism, sickness, disciplinary, contracts, etc).
  • Human Resources experience.
  • Note taking.
  • Creating HR systems reports and management reporting.

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • CIPD qualified.
