We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Manchester, who are recruiting for a Plumber, Multi-Trade Plumber and Painter/Decorator on a temporary rolling contract.
The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable between £22-25 per hour on a CIS Basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out responsive maintenance works on domestic properties and experience delivering an excellent responsive repairs service.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out a range of plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance works within occupied and void residential properties
- Completing multi-trade repairs, including basic carpentry, tiling, patch plastering, and general property maintenance as required
- Undertaking internal and external painting and decorating works to a high standard, ensuring quality finishes throughout
- Diagnosing faults, identifying remedial works, and completing repairs efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and performance targets
- Accurately recording completed works, materials used, and any follow-on repairs required using handheld devices or works management systems
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a Plumbing, Multi-Trade, or Painter/Decorator role, ideally within social housing, local authority, or residential maintenance environments
- Strong ability to carry out repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works to a high standard across occupied and void properties
- Experience diagnosing defects and completing works independently while delivering excellent customer service to residents
- Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations, with the ability to maintain accurate job records and complete works within agreed timescales
