Role: Senior Business Development Manager

(For Top UK Law Firm to join their Marketing Team – LEGAL experience is a must).

Full-time permanent OR part-time options available (pro rata)

Hybrid:

  • Remote / hybrid, but some travel to regional offices a couple times a month is expected (all travel and hotels expensed)
  • Flexible on hybrid working

Location: Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds or Manchester!

Salary: DOE up to £65,000 + other benefits

I’m recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager to join the marketing team at a Top UK Law Firm! They are a dynamic legal and professional services firm known for its collaborative and supportive environment, driven by innovation and a commitment to client success. Their expertise spans a wide range of legal and business areas, and they pride themselves on delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients – serving a diverse clientele, from multinational corporations to individual clients, both within the UK and internationally.

This role offers excellent opportunities for career progression within a dynamic and growing firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing new business strategies, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth!

Role Responsibilities:

1) Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the unit heads to plan objectives and strategies.
  • Develop marketing strategies for new products and services.

2) Business Development

  • Drive new business opportunities and internal cross-selling across the platform and wider business.
  • Ensure all activities align with business goals and unit needs.

3) Bid & Proposal Management

  • Work closely with the bids team to develop pitches, proposals, and other business-winning materials.

4) Event & Campaign Management

  • Organise networking events, particularly around new legislation (e.g., employment law changes).
  • Position the company as a thought leader in the market through external branding initiatives.

5) Relationship Management

  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, third parties, and clients.
  • Support cross-selling initiatives across the group.

About you:

1) Industry Experience

  • Must have experience within the legal sector (employment, private client, or pensions preferred).
  • Familiarity with relevant terminology and industry challenges is critical to quickly build stakeholder trust.

2) Skillset

  • Proven experience in business development and marketing strategy.
  • Confidence and gravitas to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Management experience is a plus but not essential.

3) Background Fit

  • Ideally, candidates operating at manager level or individuals with strong ownership of BD responsibilities in larger firms.
