James Adams is currently looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with recent experience delivering on SCADA projects.

Contract Length: 12 months

Hybrid remote working in the west midlands

Job Summary:

My client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Temporary Project Manager to join their large-scale transformation programme. This role will focus on managing technical projects related to SCADA and/or IT networks (WAN, LAN, etc.) and will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of network-related components within the broader programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex technical projects using waterfall methodologies, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and close network-related projects within the transformation programme, adhering to waterfall methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ideally using MS Project.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering leads, architects, programme team members, and change teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders through regular meetings, updates, and documentation.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Documentation and Governance: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and change requests.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance standards and auditable processes.
  • Maintain accurate project records.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other project managers to ensure effective dependency mapping, change management, and overall programme coordination.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programme-wide best practices and methodologies.
  • Assist with change management activities related to network projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing technical projects/programmes related to SCADA networks and/or IT networks (WAN, LAN, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using MS Project for project planning and tracking.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and facilitating effective collaboration.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with dependency mapping.
  • Experience with change management.
