James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Web Application Developer with experience developing in C# and ASP.NET. This is a permanent role working 3 days pw onsite in Northampton. The role is paying up to £45,000 + Benefits. This role will play a key part in delivering and supporting large scale technology solutions that have a real impact across the organisation. You will be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, from early discovery through to delivery and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

  • Working closely with stakeholders to explore, analyse and clearly document business and technical requirements.
  • Designing, building and enhancing core applications and components, following established software and security development practices.
  • Testing new and updated functionality, resolving defects and ensuring solutions are stable, secure and reliable.
  • Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation to support ongoing development and support activities.
  • Providing realistic estimates for development effort and contributing to delivery planning.
  • Supporting controlled system changes through agreed change management processes.

Operational role

  • Managing and maintaining applications in line with business needs and service expectations.
  • Acting as a key escalation point for complex support issues, identifying root causes and driving long term improvements.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the development and wider technology teams to share knowledge and improve ways of working.
  • Engaging with business users to respond quickly to issues, provide updates and support new ideas or change requests.
  • Planning and assessing complex changes, considering risk and impact to the wider technology environment.

Skills and experience

  • Strong experience developing in C# within a web based environment.
  • Hands on experience building applications using ASP.Net MVC and Razor.
  • A good overall understanding of IT systems and application architecture.
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint frameworks and the Microsoft Graph API.
  • Exposure to Microsoft PowerApps.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SSRS and SSIS.
