James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Head of Operational Excellence. We are looking for an expert in process improvement, operational improvement strategies and business transformation. This is a permanent position based in Birmingham working hybrid remotely.
About the Role:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Head of Operational Excellence to lead and drive significant enhancements across all aspects of their business. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive operational excellence strategy, identifying and implementing process improvements, and supporting business transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an operational excellence strategy:
- Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct thorough operational assessments, identifying areas for improvement and quantifying potential benefits.
- Develop and implement roadmaps for continuous improvement across all departments and functions.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Lead process improvement initiatives:
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies to streamline and optimize business processes.
- Design and implement process mapping, root cause analysis, and change management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements and make adjustments as needed.
Support business transformation initiatives:
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic business transformation initiatives.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for operational innovation.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead or contribute to projects related to organizational restructuring, system implementations, and other major change initiatives.
Develop and mentor the team:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of operational improvement professionals.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in operational improvement, process improvement, or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading and implementing successful operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.
- Experience in a professional services environment (highly preferred).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and coaching skills.
