James Adams is looking for an experienced IT and Business Change Project Manager. This is a permanent position based in central Birmingham, working hybrid remotely.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will manage and deliver primarily business change-related IT projects within time and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, document, and successfully deliver business change-focused IT projects within agreed timelines and budget.
  • Direct and support project team members.
  • Manage stakeholders through the discovery phase to elicit project requirements.
  • End-to-end project management of all assigned projects.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with users and stakeholders regarding the planning and delivery of individual programs of work and projects.
  • Achieve project buy-in and cooperation, and minimize the impact of risk to the business.
  • Identify, initiate, and maintain project RAIDs for all projects and programs of work.
  • Develop strategies and measures to mitigate and/or control identified risks, ensuring contingency plans are developed and executed.
  • Produce, maintain, and deliver appropriate project management documentation.
  • Liaise between business stakeholders, IT team members, third-party suppliers, clients, and others as required to deliver IT projects.
  • Own the work breakdown structure, production of estimates, project plans, technical plans, and requirements, finances, risk & contingency, scope management, and change control.
  • Prepare project management products (PID, status reports, change control notes, Business Case, BRS, Test, and other key documentation).
  • Clearly articulate business requirements, business processes, delivery plans, and the benefits cases for programs of work.
  • Communicate in language that is appropriate to the audience.
  • Identify, contract with, and manage third parties to deliver solutions as necessary.
  • Ensure projects create all necessary documentation to enable the IT Service team to fully support the solution after the project has concluded.
  • Support the wider IT team at times with tasks that might be outside of the core role description.

The Team

The IT department is a dynamic and collaborative team. The Solution Delivery team comprises Change Management, Development, and Innovation professionals. The team is responsible for defining and delivering transformational change, IT system/process improvements, developing client-specific solutions, and managing system integrations.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • PRINCE2, AMP, or similar project management qualification.
  • Excellent problem analysis, system design, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
  • Project planning, estimation, requirements gathering, and business case writing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering end-to-end projects in professional services or similar environment.
