A leading aerospace engineering organisation is seeking an Aerospace Quality Engineer to join its growing Quality team in Fareham. This is an opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, supporting the development, manufacture and repair of highly engineered aerospace products used in demanding environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, driving quality improvements, supporting audits and leading root cause investigations across engineering and manufacturing activities. The organisation is experiencing continued growth and investment, with several major projects underway. The role offers the chance to work alongside experienced quality professionals and gain exposure to complex aerospace programmes covering systems, hardware, software and mechanical engineering disciplines.

The Aerospace Quality Engineer will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and programme teams to ensure products and processes meet customer, regulatory and business requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting root cause investigations and corrective action activities
  • Reviewing engineering and quality documentation to ensure compliance with approved processes and standards
  • Supporting quality assurance activities throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Conducting internal and external audits
  • Supporting AS9100 compliance activities
  • Developing and maintaining project quality plans
  • Working closely with engineering teams across systems, hardware, software and mechanical design activities
  • Supporting supplier quality and subcontractor compliance activities
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Acting as a trusted quality representative within project teams

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a highly regulated engineering environment and possess a strong understanding of quality assurance principles. Candidates are likely to have experience in:

  • Aerospace, defence, avionics or space industries
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
  • Quality assurance and quality management systems
  • Internal or lead auditing
  • AS9100 or similar regulated quality standards
  • Engineering development, manufacturing or production environments
  • Cross functional project teams

Experience with standards such as ARP4754A, DO-178C or DO-254 would be advantageous, although not essential. The client is particularly interested in individuals who demonstrate curiosity, determination, strong problem-solving skills and a genuine passion for quality engineering.
