About the Role

AION Auto UK is a joint venture between Jameel Motors and Chinese automaker GAC Group. The AION brand will come to the UK market in Spring 2026 with the launch of the AION V SUV and the AION UT hatchback EV models, to be followed by a full range of electrified car models over the next five years.

This exciting joint venture is seeking an experienced Manager, Network Standards who will play a pivotal role as our ‘gatekeeper’ of network standards, focusing on developing our retail network, as well as delivering a best-in-class service to our customers as we expand the sale of AION products nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the retail partner standards across people, premises & processes.
  • Line manage the Training Manager who will have responsibility for both commercial & technical training
  • Responsible for all retail partner audit procedures including standards reporting
  • Management of standards elements of retail partner terms and associated bonus payments.
  • Lead the network standards agenda, to leverage scale, find synergies and share best practice
  • Maintenance and communication of all retail partner standards both internally and externally
  • Creation and maintenance of retail partner standards documentation.
  • Support the network operation teams in managing both retail partner standards and representation development, creating convincing, well thought through, aligned commercial plans for both existing and new business partners
  • Establish & monitor retail partner performance standards achievement with regular reporting with network operations
  • Lead quarterly retail partner reviews with network operations to ensure timely progress towards network development objectives

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Retail Standards Manager or Regional Manager in the automotive sector looking for their next career progression.

  • Extensive Automotive Retail Experience: Proven background in multi-site automotive retail operations, with strong understanding of retailer standards, customer experience benchmarks, and OEM compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in Network Performance & Compliance: Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and audit retail network standards, ensuring consistent brand representation, operational efficiency, and alignment with manufacturer expectations.
  • Training & Development: Experience in training or evidence of interest in people development.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Skilled in using performance data and market insights to identify gaps, propose improvements, and influence strategic decisions regarding retail network development and optimisation.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Effective communicator and collaborator, capable of working cross-functionally with internal teams, retail partners, and OEM head office functions to drive standard adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management & Training Capabilities: Experience managing complex projects such as retailer upgrades, network audits, or rollouts of new standards; able to deliver training and guidance to ensure smooth adoption and consistent execution.
  • People Management: Experience of direct line management or evidence of leadership capability
