- Draft press releases, pitches, opinion pieces, statements, and talking points.
- Secure interviews, speaking opportunities, and feature placements in U.S. and international media.
- Manage reactive media inquiries and reputational risk.
- Personally draft and edit: website content updates, newsletters, reports and research summaries, social media copy, event materials and scripts.
- Manage and grow digital channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.), with a focus on expanding reach among U.S. stakeholders.
- Oversee website updates and collaborate with external designers/developers when needed.
- Track analytics and adapt content strategy accordingly.
- Develop plans and lead communications for key initiatives, research launches, and public programming.
- Develop communications plans for events across the U.S and globally.
- Create toolkits and messaging frameworks for partners and collaborators.
- Ensure consistent and coordinated messaging across all campaign touchpoints.
- Coordinate joint announcements with partner institutions in the U.S. and internationally.
- Support funder communications and impact reporting, including U.S.-based institutional funders and donors.
- Draft briefing documents and materials for board members and advisors.
- Ensure alignment of communications across academic, cultural, and health sectors.
- Establish communications workflows, editorial calendars, and approval processes.
- Manage communications budget.
- Commission and oversee freelancers, designers, photographers, and videographers as required (U.S. and international).
- Build scalable systems as the organisation grows.
