£35,000-£40,000 DOE | Full-time | JAMA Logistics
We are rebuilding the operating structure of a growing transport and warehousing business and are looking for a Transport Controller who wants more than another planning desk.
You will work directly with our Operations Manager, helping to build and run a profitable daily transport plan across our fleet.
This is a hands-on role: vehicles, drivers, customers, live issues, route decisions, margin and service.
We are not looking for someone who simply keeps trucks moving.
We want someone who wants to understand why the work makes money, how the operation can improve and how they can grow into a future transport leader.
You will be expected to
- Plan and control vehicles and drivers throughout the day.
- Replan when the day changes and solve problems before they escalte.
- Speak confidently with customers and drivers.
- Protect margin, reduce empty mileage and use subcontractors intelligently.
- Capture additional charges and keep operational data accurate.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve how the transport department operates.
Experience in UK transport operations/planning is expected. Formal qualifications are useful, but attitude, judgement, ownership and potential matter just as much.
