About Us

Jamaica Inn is a historic destination with a strong retail presence both onsite and online. We are expanding our commercial offering and are looking for a driven Retail Development Manager to help grow our brand, strengthen partnerships, and enhance our product range.

The Role

The Retail Development Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding Jamaica Inn’s retail operations across both physical outlets and our online shop. You will play a key role in growing commercial performance by building relationships with local businesses, introducing new products, and improving overall profitability. You will also work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the online store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ongoing improvement of Jamaica Inn’s retail outlets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Cornish and local businesses to create wholesale opportunities and expand product distribution
  • Identify, source, and introduce new bespoke product lines aligned with the brand
  • Manage and develop the online shop in collaboration with the Shop Manager
  • Monitor sales performance, product margins, and overall commercial results
  • Ensure consistent product quality, availability, and presentation standards
  • Oversee stock management, pricing strategies, and product range optimisation

About You

  • Experience in retail management, buying, merchandising, or commercial development
  • Strong understanding of sales performance, margins, and stock control
  • Confident relationship-builder with a commercial mindset
  • Ability to spot opportunities for product development and brand growth
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working across both physical and digital retail channels
