Working across multidisciplinary engineering teams, the Engineering Project Manager will act as the central point of coordination between engineering, programme management, manufacturing, procurement, quality, commercial and customer stakeholders. The role will require strong leadership, structured problem solving and the ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and technically complex environment.

The role would suit an experienced project or engineering professional who enjoys working on challenging programmes where delivery, technical integrity and customer outcomes are critical.

  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action where required.
  • Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with relevant processes, standards, governance and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple engineering disciplines and functional teams.
  • Manage project changes, ensuring impacts on cost, schedule, resources and technical performance are understood and controlled.

Engineering Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ensure technical activities are appropriately planned, resourced and prioritised.
  • Work closely with Engineering Leads and Technical Authorities to ensure that technical solutions are delivered effectively.
  • Facilitate resolution of technical and delivery issues that could affect project performance.
  • Maintain an appropriate balance between engineering quality, programme requirements, cost and risk.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build effective working relationships with engineering, programme, manufacturing, procurement, commercial, quality and customer teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues and dependencies clearly to senior management.
  • Lead project meetings, reviews and progress updates.
  • Ensure actions and decisions are clearly documented, owned and followed through to completion.

Risk, Issues and Change

  • Identify, assess and actively manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain project risk and issue registers and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are implemented.
  • Escalate significant risks and issues through the appropriate governance processes.
  • Manage project change in a controlled and transparent manner.
  • Support the development and implementation of recovery plans where projects move away from agreed objectives.

Cost and Resource Management

  • Monitor project expenditure and resource requirements against agreed budgets.
  • Work with functional managers to secure appropriate engineering resources.
  • Identify resource constraints and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support forecasting and reporting of project costs and resource requirements.

Governance and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure projects comply with project management and engineering governance processes.
  • Prepare and contribute to project reviews, management reports and governance forums.
  • Promote effective project management practices across engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, processes and ways of working.
  • Capture and share lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.
