Construction Quantity Surveyor
18-month contract (24 hours per week)
Β£60 per hour - Inside IR35

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong construction background? Are you looking for your next contract opportunity with a major transformation project?
Job Summary:
You will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects, including cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations and financial control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans
- Monitor project costs, risks and financial exposure
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts
- Manage procurement and tendering activities
- Prepare tender documentation, BoQs and pricing schedules
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders
- Administer construction contracts and manage variations, change orders and claims
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
- Assess subcontractor applications and issue payment certificates
- Identify commercial risks and support value engineering
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Strong knowledge of UK construction practices
- Experience with NEC contracts
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Experience with cost management, procurement and contract administration
- Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related subject
Desirable:
- RICS / CIOB or similar professional membership
- Experience working on large-scale construction or transformation projects
- Strong experience managing variations, claims and final accounts
