HV Design Engineer
Location: London Area
Rate: £65-68 an hour
Contract Duration: 12 Month Initial Contract
Essential Skillset:
- Design HV and LV electrical systems for solar projects
- Produce and review Single Line Diagrams
- Manage grid connection applications and liaise directly with DNOs
- Strong understanding of Grid Code requirements including G99 and G100
- Specify primary plant including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, inverters, and metering
- Support protection design and relay settings in line with DNO requirements
- Review and respond to DNO technical queries and connection offers
- Provide technical support through FAT/SAT and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with BS, IEC, ENA standards and project-specific requirements
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises
- Experience with grid modelling tools such as ETAP or similar
- Strong experience within solar PV, renewables, or power generation sector
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
