We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Build / Fitter to assemble and integrate machine units for bespoke friction welding machinery. The role involves building sub-assemblies (including spindles, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and lubrication systems) and integrating them into full machine builds using engineering drawings and schematics.

You will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure machines are built safely, on time, to specification and within budget. The role also includes on-site installation, upgrades and breakdown support at customer sites in the UK and internationally.

Key Requirements

  • Strong mechanical fitting and assembly experience
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with bespoke machine builds and machine tools
  • High attention to detail and commitment to health & safety
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel, work overtime when required, and communicate professionally with customers

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds or BTEC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Machine Tool Fitter or bespoke machinery experience
  • UK driving licence, valid passport, and right to work in the UK
  • Own tools required

Experience with LEAN principles, cranes/forklifts, or automation systems is desirable but not essential.

Full time, permanent position.

£35 DOE

Monday-Thursday 7:15am-4pm

Friday 7am - 12pm
