Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Supply Chain Manager to add to their talented, hardworking team in Portsmouth on an initial 18 months contract. Striving for innovation and creativity, you can ensure no two days will be the same.
The rate per hour: £56.62 per hour inside IR35 / umbrella
The role:
- To work with the Commercial, Operations and Engineering teams to provide a resource to plan, select, negotiate, purchase, expedite and make available materials to meet stringent project cost, quality and timescales requirements relating to the Ship Repair Delivery business stream.
- To execute all material procurements in conjunction with the Engineering, Operations and Project Management teams making sure timescales and lead times are embedded in the project plan.
- To select appropriate make/buy and implement category/supplier solutions developed by the category team.
- To work closely with the category managers to ensure contracted terms and value for money solutions are delivered, providing the best solutions for the business that combines least cost, risk, with highest quality schedule compliance.
- To identify potential risks and issues and work with the wider team to find resolutions.
The Role Holder:
- Supply Chain best practice knowledge and experience.
- The role requires excellent and broad Supply Chain knowledge and a breadth of business knowledge and expertise, including good business, market and competitor knowledge as well as depth of vision and creativity and an ability to contribute to the development of Supply Chain strategies to support business objectives.
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the business objectives.
- MCIPS or working towards MCIPS.
